Isaac Lopez
Local Painter
Born and raised in Napa Valley, Isaac Lopez is a painter whose work reflects the landscapes, traditions, and stories that shaped his upbringing. The son of migrant farmworkers from Jalisco, Mexico, he spent his childhood working alongside his family in the vineyards. Those experiences instilled in him a deep appreciation for hard work and perseverance, values that continue to shape his perspective and artistic voice.

What inspires your work?
Growing up, Isaac watched his mother and grandmother create traditional Mexican embroidered clothing by hand. Their patience, precision, and dedication to craftsmanship taught him that creating something meaningful takes time. Those early lessons continue to influence the way he approaches painting.
"I hope my paintings encourage people to slow down, appreciate the beauty around them, and reflect on the stories and memories that shape who we are."

Why oil painting?
"I've been creating art for as long as I can remember."
Oil painting became Isaac's primary medium because it allows him to capture light, atmosphere, and the quiet beauty of the landscapes that surround him. He is inspired by the luminous landscape tradition of the Hudson River School, and he brings that timeless approach to the familiar scenery of Northern California.
